Nation Dungeon: Alcatraz TONIGHT 9 PM PST

Here is a guide I found online you might read to prepare for the Alcatraz Nation Dungeon tonight.

http://wakpo.com/online-games/atlantica-online/atlantica-online-alcatraz-run-guide

Remember, to participate in a ND you should be above 97 and well equipped. Death in ND's can cause consequences such as new monsters spawning and slowing down the success of the nation. Also, please don't come to ND and then go AFK. Represent us well, we are an awesome guild!

See you in the dungeon!

King's Judgement

A lot of you are not ancient enough to have seen many King's Judgements (KJ's) take place against members of our nation and have concerns or questions about them. How do they work? Are we at risk? Should we just stay in town? What do we stand to lose?

I went out and hunted for some information for you. I think this article explains it quite well.
http://wakpo.com/online-games/atlantica-online/atlantica-online-kings-judgement

In answer to your concerns...
Do you want to be KJ'd, heck no. Is it always a reason to panic or hide? Only if it is directed at you, your guild, or (in very rare circumstances) your nation. Don't make a habit of instigating trouble, and you won't likely have any.

It is not your guild leader's or officers' practice to instigate wars, KJ offenses, or to go looking for a big fight with other nations. We can do Free League for that :) We will always keep our guildmembers' safety in mind when dealing with political factors in the game. When it comes time to bid on a town, we will address the risks with you before making any moves as this DOES often instigate KJ's and we want you to know before the risk even comes up.

The Killing Spree continues...

Monsters of Atlantica, be warned, the DarkSide guild isn't taking prisoners. Yesterday we took out the trash in the Snake Shrine with ease. In preparation for an upcoming raid in the Valley of Oblivion, Wolff also led us on a Shoot n Loot there to gather Cube Shards for the stockpile. This will enable us to skip two rooms when we head in for a full run.

We saw the guild complete several guild crafts too, and two of our members reached milestone levels at 100. Congrats to TehVyperr and MatthewHewit.

This means we got to cross a goal off our list as we reached 6 members at level 100! That doesn't mean the rest of the guildies get to sit on our duffs. We're gonna keep encouraging you to push a little harder, fight a little longer, and kill a few extra. Can't let those monsters take over the place!

Persephina, congrats on your new house! We look forward to more parties at your expense LOL.

Now what are you doing here still reading? Get out there and shoot something!

WAY TO GO DARKSIDE!

Knockin 'Em Dead

Yesterday we ran our first dungeon run with the new, much larger group. We were a little hesitant to take this ragtag mob of eager monster-shooters into Marksburg, but we couldn't resist it. So in we went. And with 3 minutes to spare, we killed every monster that dared cross our path and cleared the dungeon.

This was a great run, one we will be able to improve on as we only grow stronger at fighting as a team.

Looking forward to many more.

The Logo must Go Go

It has been brought to my attention that sushi is not EVERYONE's idea of what the DarkSide logo should be expressing. Something does seem a little fishy here, doesn't it?

Being that it IS my favorite food, I am not giving it up easily.
You will only have to smell this fishy logo until the guild hits level 85. How long that takes is up to the guild. I hope it takes a while because I truly love sushi.

We Just Got HUGE, Say Hi to Our New Members and Old Friends

You might have noticed the guild got bigger overnight. If you look closely, you may recognize the names of our new guildmates. Darkside is happy to now be home to the former members and leaders of the Dark Acolytes guild. Our combined strengths will open new opportunities for everyone. More people to play with at all levels, a few more high level players to team up with, and more fresh energy for everyone.

I hope you will all enjoy playing together. As always, please come to me or another officer with any concerns or questions. See you in the fights :)

Congrats are in order! (News from DarkSide)

Event Winners:
I was checking out the winner lists from the Crafter's Anonymous events, and a couple of ya were WINNERS! Congrats to Psisis and DarkWolff, ya lucky and CRAFTY buggers! Wolff got 5 boxes from the Item Mall and Psisis is snagging some serious experience books, 5 of them worth 5 MILLION in experience a piece. Nicely done, DarkSide!

Current Event 200% Experience:
I know I haven't been updating as much lately. I have been busy FIGHTIN'! Trying to stay ahead is really tough when we have sooo many of you leveling like mad. Do you know it is 200% Experience all week? This is a GREAT time to fight and power level your main or some mercs. If you aren't fighting, you are missing a killer opportunity. That's all I can say about that.

New Dungeons We Fight In:
I also am so proud of everyone who is taking advantage of the times we open the higher level dungeons. When we open them, we are not EXPECTING that we will always beat them, but we love the loot or think it is going to be a good chance for some members to get a little practice in these dungeons that will come in handy when we go into them for more serious runs. We had fun in the Valley of Oblivion (VOO) and Marksburg Castle earlier this week, and we will be opening them more often now that you guys are getting leveled up. Please, feel free to join in these dungeons if you don't mind a little Kamikazi style fighting and are not afraid to die. The loot is a lot nicer than the Snake Shrine, and we tend to have a lotta fun making good money while we clobber stuff.

Guild Crafting:
The Guild Crafting tool is there for you to use. We have a few things we ask so we can better manage it and keep it rewarding for the guild and its members.
Please do not create crafts above a 20 million workload unless there is no possible way to split them up *high level armor on occasion is larger*.
  • We also ask that you not use the Building crafts as we do not have a town and everyone is fighting to make them without getting a useful skill raise. If you need to do crafts that are in that category, please talk to your leaders first.  We try not to hog it but also to keep it moving so the guild gets maximum skill raises all day.
  • Lastly, please try to be here fighting when your guild craft is up. It is dis-motivating to some of your guildmates if you start a craft that ties up the guild craft and then disappear for the day, especially if it is a large one. They know that their guild crafts won't get worked for a while and someone else who isn't here is getting the support. This is a way we all support one another, please keep that in mind. We might have other crafts waiting that are not loaded yet too to give as prizes or to raise the guild points we use to open more dungeons.
I'll be putting up some updates in my next post, as well as updating my Skill List below. Been crafting, watch out world :)

Crafting Skills Inventory

I have often wondered, what is the biggest thing we can craft as a guild. I know what my highest skills are, but it might be helpful to do an inventory of each of my skills... and for members of the guild to do it too.

This way we know who can start the guild crafts as an artisan, in case one of the leaders just isn't high enough in that particular skill yet. We are working on becoming GrandMasters of Everything, but in the meantime, we all have different strong points.

Here's my Skills Inventory.

SKILL   LEVEL   HIGHEST CRAFT

Stationery  55  Magic Pen
Food  50  Traditional Korean Meal

I will keep adding to my skills every day, I enjoy crafting, dismantling, analyzing, and watchng while my lists grow. Plus, a lot of the higher level crafts do pay off with a profit on the market. As I add to my skills, I will post an update.

Now, I challenge you, if you have skills that are higher levels than me, please let me know which ones and what level you are at. We need skilled artisans when we do guild crafts. They make a little gold to simply go in and hit the Start button on crafts too. Let me know if I can count on you as an artisan for the guild!

Whew, what a day!

This morning started out with our daily meeting at 7 AM PST as usual. After the meeting, we went to my house and had a tea party to get an extra buff for our guild dungeon run. Those who came to the tea party walked  out stronger and ready to run fast to the dungeon and kick some monster butt.
We headed into the dungeon with Crims, Psisis, GeoVilder, and myself. I wasn't sure we would make it. That's a small group of warriors for such a big task. Then from out of nowhere, Boory joined the fight. And when it still looked a little bleak on the 3rd floor, we cried out for the mighty Achilleus to come to our aid.
And we DID IT. We cleared the Snake Shrine with this craziness! It was a great time. We had a lot of hiccups along the way but we still succeeded in making a killing in loot doing a whole lot of killing.

I love the Snake Shrine. It's like Disneyland for some of us lol.
Some things I suggest after today's craziness:

If you plan to be in a dungeon run, attend the meeting beforehand. Don't show up right at the time of the dungeon, and really joining late is not to anyone's advantage.
Go to the teaparties, they really do make you stronger!
Make sure to have lots of healing options on hand, even resurrection scrolls, in case you lose a few mercs during a fight. A trip back to town with your whole party dead is no fun to come back from when the group is all the way up on the top floor. You miss a lot of the action :)
Lastly, appreciate people who are not able to come to the whole thing but can come in at the end anyway. They can totally change the fight from a scary one to a fun run. Thanks for jumping in and helping, Achilleus :) You rocked as usual.

Crims, Psi, you did great today at managing the meeting, killing in the dungeon, and showing some new folks how to do what it is we do. This game is so much more fun with friends.

Geo, way to go, you lived well and fought better than we had hoped for your first run! Awesome.

Boory, you didn't give up even when you had trouble getting in the door. Thank you!

DARKSIDE RULES, EVEN IF THE COOKIES ARE EVIL.

I like silly games, do you?

Tell me what is hanging from the tree you see at Central Asia X:1959 Y:1949, And isn't this a gorgeous bunch of scenery?

The first person to tell me, you get a prize from our lootbox.

Just another reason to read the blog folks :)

(CONGRATS TO PSISIS, He got the correct answer. I would tell you all what it is, but you really ought to go enjoy this view for yourself.)

My Home

HOOAH, HOORAY, AND HAPPY ME.

I went to the My Home area last night and bought me a nice little european shack to hold some parties in. It also has a garden with mint in it.

What do you care, you might ask?

You can use it!

Anytime you need a quick escape to run to the fridge and you are in a dungeon, a house is a safe place to park and monsters can't get you. Just find me on your list, and choose to Visit. It will take you to my house.

Also, you can use my farm to get Mint, which sells on the market. Today it is selling for 20K each. I made over a million gold in one visit. All you need to do is hop over to the My Home area in Rome and get your skills from Wendy Herb. It's cheap and you will be on your way to making free gold every day.

Anyway, watch for me to holler that I'm having a feast or tea party in the house. If you come to it, you get a 15-20% fight buff.

Guild Dungeon A WIN FOR DARKSIDE

We just got out of the guild dungeon, what a riot.

Thank you to Darkwolff, Achilleus, Crims, Psisis, Arystide, Aireas, and Kolgor for running the Snake Shrine Guild Dungeon. Also thanks to our cheering squad backing us up, GeoVilder and MoneyShot666 are on their way to our next one, I can totally tell!

We cleared all 4 floors with about 40 minutes to spare and this was a first time going to the dungeon for about half of us.

Clearing the dungeon, each participant received some great loot. The heavies gave their prize jars and some of their personal loot to the lower levels, how cool is that?

The guild receives 800 Guild Points every time we clear this dungeon, and we can go once per day. As we get higher in our personal levels, we will be abkle to go to some even bigger, harder dungeons with even better loot and Guild Points.

We look forward to more guild adventures.

Dismantle for Skill Increases (Easy Training)

Want to raise your armor or weapon crafting skills fast? One way to do this is to simply grab a hammer and start dismantling armor or weapons you aren't using anymore. Grind in an area that gives you equipment boxes. Low level? Take on the monsters in the sea palace.

Open the boxes, then get out your hammers. Right click on the hammer, and it will open the Refine window. Choose the equipment you want to dismantle and the hammer and get dismantling. It will convert the item into element shards you can use in crafts or sell for gold and also give you a small increase in your crafting skills for whichever item you dismantled.

Low level players often use this method to quickly raise their skill levels. Good luck!

Tools I've Found

Here is a list of online tools you might find useful. I will add to the list as I find more.

Crafting Calculator:Calculate the cost and materials for your craft.
Formation Builder: Build battle formations with this online generator.

Training Centers

Did you know that you can help the guild gain guild points in town by using the Training Center?

How it works:
Take at least 3 people from the guild to town. Enter the training center. You will see a big pack of monsters. Kill ten of them in 5 minutes, we advance to the next level of training. the guild also receives guild points.

It's pretty simple at first, the monsters are deer. As we progress, the mobs get harder, but the rewards get larger.

Find some guildmates to go in and let's get training. You don't have to have a guild leader present and anyone can participate as long as you are all in the guild.

Want in-depth info on this subject? Read about it here.

How to Help The Guild

Your guild is here to support you. Not only do you receive more columns in your inventory, a buff on your fights and crafts, and access to a nation, you also gain comraderie and friends instantly by joining.

While we are here to improve your game, help you reach your goals, and support you through the game, there are ways you can also contribute to the success of the guild and your guildmates. Guild Experience helps the guild gain levels. Every ten levels we raise the guild, your buffs increase. As we gain Guild Points, we can go into bigger dungeons with better loots. Guild points are also what a guild can use to bid on town ownership.

How can you contribute?
Guild Quests: Purchase a Manager's Scroll in the market or from merchants that is appropriate for your level, then head to any town and click on Guild Office. Choose Options. Then click on Guild Quest. You will get a quest assigned to you. When you complete the quest, you get experience. The guild also gains experience or guild points depending on the quest. You can complete 5 guild quests per day. Please, do your best to complete all 5. These are vital to the growth of our guild.

Guild Crafting: We start several gu;d crafts throughout the day. these guld crafts give us Guild Points. You can help by being active and fighting monsters when they are running. You also will receive skill points from these crafts when they are completed, so there is a benefit for you if you are interested in crafting and raising those skill levels. The more you fight, the more guild crafts we will complete each day, bringing us closer to our goal of owning a town and getting into more expensive dungeons.

Guild Operation Textbooks: Each Guild Operation textbook that a guild leader opens will give the guild 500 Guild Points. You can donate these books to your guild leader at any time. They are sometimes found in loot drops. You also can purchase them in the market or My Store.

Contribute at the Guild Office: You can contribute gold to help offset the costs of the guild. Every day, the guild leader pays a fee per member in the guild. As we grow, this fee gets larger. Your contribution is used to pay these fees, buy keys on the market, or Guild Operation Textbooks. This is not the Guild Leader's personal fund, we assure you.

Just Be ACTIVE: It really is this simple. When you are actively fighting monsters, the guild receives Guild Experience. You also help push guild crafts to completion. This is one of the most important things you can do to contribute. We are all here to play the game, so get out there and play! Sign in regularly and be part of the guild's success. We will celebrate your success with you!

Guild Dungeons

A Guild Dungeon is a high paced dungeon full of gold, loot, and monsters to fight as a team. You must be a member of the guild to enjoy this benefit in the game. There are several different dungeons available to the guild, and we select the dungeon based on the guild member levels or the guild's goals for the run. The guild receives a set amount of guild points and experience for clearing each dungeon, based on difficulty

Your guild leader or Chief Officer will manage this dungeon run, including the organization of parties and squads to bring the most success to the guild. . Please allow them to place you in parties with partners if they feel it is necessary for your survival. Please attempt to attend the guild dungeons when possible to show support for your guild and to contribute to the success. The loot, gold, or experience you receive should be very rewarding for you. Besides, we have a lot of fun in there.

Preparing for a Guild Dungeon
  • Wear your best armor. A guild dungeon can be brutal if you haven't taken the time to upgrade your armor to your level.
  • Bring life potions and healing/revival gear. You may have to revive your mercenaries in-between fights.
  • These are shadow dungeons. Monsters WILL grab you. There is also a time limit. There is no time to sit between fights to heal. Bring potions, food, ambrosia, whatever will heal you quickly.
  • Be early. When a dungeon is scheduled to start, we will not succeed if you show up late. Your entire team is depending on you to be there and ready to fight when the door opens. Failure to be on time can cost you your entry, we may go in without you.
  • Review the dungeon maps before you come in. You can view them in your field book.
  • If you die during the dungeon, you will be sent to a town. Quickly revive your party and return immediately to the dungeon and locate your fight party to rejoin them. We are counting on you to get back in as quickly as you can. This is not a time to go to a quest and then c0me back. We could lose the dungeon without you!

Our guild runs a Guild Dungeon any weekday that we have members interested, immediately after our daily guild meeting. If you attend the meeting, there is time to prepare for the dungeon run in the meeting. We also may run them on the weekends if there are enough present and interested.

Some guild dungeons will be too big for you. Please understand, we try to get everyone in the dungeon, but if you are too low in level, you may be asked to sit one out. We will do our best to accommodate everyone, after all, we love to get as many of us together as possible. You can still cheer your guildmates on and support the effort.

Most importantly, come with a desire to have a great time and kill some monsters. There are plenty to go around.

Your Diary

Monster Info

Every Monster in the game has a set of information available: Basic Info, Location Info, Item Info, and Origin Info.

Collecting and sharing this information is very helpful in your quests and often a requirement. You are only able to share info you have already collected, and it is shared in a specific order.

As you gather the information, it is stored in your Monster book, and you can access it later. Click on Game Info, then Monsters to view.

  • Basic Information is the first card in the series and simply adds the monster to your book.
  • Location Info tells you where to go look for the monster. This comes in handy when you are grinding or doing quests where you have to find the monster on your own, such as guild quests.
  • Item Information lets you know what types of loot you will receive when you fight that monster.
  • Origin Info seals the info in the book, so to speak, and unlocks specific benefits for you. Once you have Origin Info on a monster, you gain an additional 10% experience when you fight them. You are limited to receive Origin info twice per day.

You can share Monster Info with other players in your nation, guild, friends list, or Mentorship List an unlimited number of times per day. It uses Will according to your level.

There are title quests available near Athens that reward you with Titles (buffs) for sharing Monster Info. Check out the Motivated and Monster Expert Title Quests. They can be completed concurrently.
